The Tongariro Alpine Crossing track crosses the stark and spectacular volcanic terrain of the central plateau of New Zealand.

This tramping track is regarded as the best one-day hike in New Zealand. You can freedom walk the crossing or enjoy the company of an experienced guide. Most walkers start at Mangatepopo which then takes them over alpine meadows up and over the moon like landscape of Mt Tongariro. The finish is through the pristine rain forest towards the Ketetahi Road end of the track. The crossing takes about seven hours of steady walking to complete in good weather. It may take longer in winter or if walked from the Ketetahi end.

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing map is a great memento.

This map of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is a wonderful memento for those who have walked the track or perhaps intend to in the future. Highlighting many of the sights you see on the track, it can be a talking point in your home.

Enjoy this great looking and wonderfully informative map.
